Roger Mody
Founder & Chairman
The Mody Foundation

Roger Mody is the former Chairman & CEO of SIGNAL Corporation, a leading information technology services company headquartered in Fairfax, VA. Over its 15-year history, SIGNAL developed a strong track record of success, marked by impressive financial performance and quality work for its customers.

SIGNAL achieved ISO 9001 certification for delivering quality service to its customers and achieved revenue of $252 million in 2001, with 1800 employees working in 60 offices throughout the nation. This growth was accomplished through Mody's strategy of growing the company's business organically rather than through mergers and acquisitions. In September 2002, Mody sold the company in an all cash transaction to a publicly held billion-dollar company, Veridian Corporation (NYSE:VNX) for $227 million.

Mody and SIGNAL were the recipients of more than 40 industry and growth awards over the years including: 1995 KPMG Peat Marwick High Technology Entrepreneur, 1997 Ernst and Young High Technology Entrepreneur of the Year,Washington Technology Fast 50, Arthur Andersen's 1999 Best Practices Award for Exceeding Customer Expectations, Deloitte & Touche Fast 500, and Inc. 500, among others. Mody is an associate publisher to Inc. Magazine and has been featured on CNN.

Mody is now founder and chairman of The Mody Foundation, whose goal is to help provide higher education funding for underprivileged children.

In addition to his work at the Mody Foundation, Mody has been actively involved in the Washington, D.C. area philanthropic community with participation in organizations including: Make-A-Wish Foundation, Easter Seals, Volunteer Emergency Families for Children, Joe Gibbs' Youth for Tomorrow, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology Intern Program, NVTC Dan Bannister Scholarship Fund, Alexandria Rising Stars Basketball program, Good Samaritan Foundation, and the Washington Redskins Touchdown Club. Mody is a Charter Member of the Washington Redskins Leadership Council. Mody is also on the Board of Directors for Fight for Children and served as Chairman of the 2003 Fight Night, which raised nearly $2.M, a record amount of money for the Fight for Children organization. In June 2004, Mody was appointed to the Greater Washington Board of Trade Sports Alliance.

Mody is a native of the Washington DC metropolitan area, who is married and the father of three children.

Fred Hoch
Vice President, Software Programs
Software & Information Industry Association

Fred Hoch is Vice President, Software Programs for the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA). SIIA is the principal trade association for the software and digital content industry. SIIA provides global services in government relations, business development, corporate education and intellectual property protection to more than 650 leading software and information companies.

Mr. Hoch's duties include developing and executing projects, task forces and other programs on business models and technology for companies that develop the applications, services, infrastructure and tools that drive the software and services industry. The association brings together top executives from various facets of the industry to share ideas and address common challenges. In his capacity as VP, Fred provides strategic market consultation, research and analysis for senior industry executives on varied issues relating to the software industry, publishes wide industry knowledge and strategic insight for member companies on the latest trends, business issues and visionary topics as well as fosters partnership and alliance opportunities. He works with executives to develop showcase industry thought leadership and increase industry exposure.

Earlier, Fred was the eBusiness Division Director for SIIA and the Global Division Manager at SIIA. He worked directly with member companies, both in the United States and around the world, to develop their global business interests. He spearheaded all of SIIA's global interests to maximize industry and membership benefit and impact.

Before joining SPA, Mr. Hoch worked for an Internet start-up as a Product Marketing Manager, and in the Western European office of the U.S. Department of State. He also lived and worked in Europe for many years and through his travels he has visited over 50 countries. Mr. Hoch received his BA in History from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and his MA in International Affairs from the George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Lynda M. Maddox, Ph.D.
Professor of Marketing and Advertising

Dr. Maddox is a marketing and advertising professor at The George Washington University and an active consultant. Her expertise includes marketing, advertising, consumer behavior, consumer law, and focus group moderation and training. She teaches various courses, including Principles of Marketing, Buyer Behavior, several in Advertising, a series of workshops on effective oral communication in business, and a focus group moderators’ workshop. Her success as a teacher stems from her strong ties to the “real world.”

Lynda Maddox served as a consultant to clients including a big-three automaker, a European automaker, a real estate development firm, a direct marketer in the drug, and cosmetics field, several attorneys, and numerous other national and local firms. For these clients, Dr. Maddox has conducted advertising and marketing research, including qualitative and qualitative studies.

Dr. Maddox is a past chair of the academic division of the American Advertising Federation and serves on the executive committee. She is also a member of the American Marketing Association and the American Academy of Advertising.

Lynda has published in numerous professional and scholarly journals, including The Journal of Advertising Research, The Journal of Pharmaceutical Marketing, Marketing News, Journalism Quarterly, Business Journal, and Current Issues and Research in Advertising. She has appeared on CNN, CNNfn, "Good Morning America," Fox Morning News, and on Channel 8 News talking about her expertise in marketing and advertising. Dr. Maddox was also been quoted in the USA Today, The Christian Science Monitor, Investor¹s Business Daily, The Washington Post and other state and local publications.

Dr. Maddox is listed in Who's Who in Advertising, and Who's Who in the East. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree from The Pennsylvania State University and a doctorate from Southern Illinois University.

Rajesh Rai
VP & Co-Founder
New Market Growth Fund

Rajesh Rai is Vice - President and Co-founder of the New Markets Growth Fund, located at the University of Maryland's Smith School of Business and serves as an advisor to the MBA and Executive Education programs at the school. The New Markets Growth Fund is a $20 million venture capital fund that makes equity investments and provides operational assistance to both early-stage ventures and small to mid-sized high growth companies located in Maryland, Washington DC and Northern Virginia.

Raj brings a unique blend of corporate, entrepreneurial and venture capital experience to his position. He has launched new businesses at Godrej-GE Appliances, optimized product design at Kirloskar Electric, worked on product planning at Federal Express and provided strategic and operational assistance to several technology startups while at the Dingman Center of Entrepreneurship.

Raj has taught graduate level classes in international marketing and entrepreneurship at the Sydenham College, Mumbai and the University of Maryland, College Park. He participates on review committees of National Science Foundation's Small Business Innovation Research program, Maryland Industrial Partnerships, Maryland Technology Development Corporation, Office of Technology Commercialization and Mindlab, University of Maryland. Raj also serves as an advisor to several startups in the Greater Washington region. He has been quoted on small business in publications such as the Washington Post and the Baltimore Business Journal.

Raj has a BS in mechanical engineering from REC Suratkal, India, a Masters in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and an MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business where he was awarded the Lamone Entrepreneur Scholarship and the Deans Scholarship. Raj lives with his wife in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Clifford W. Chapman
Managing Partner
Early Stage Associates

Mr. Chapman is Managing Partner of Early Stage Associates, LLC an organization dedicated to working with senior management of early stage technology companies in all aspects of their business from capital formation to business strategy. Mr. Chapman is also Managing Director of ChapRoc Capital, LLC a private equity fund specializing in technology ventures.

Mr. Chapman served as CEO of mindSHIFT Technologies from June 2002 through August 2003. He was brought into the company by the investors to turn around the business. During his tenure as CEO, Mr. Chapman saw revenue grow 230% and reduced cash burn from $400K per month to cash positive. He headed an initial raise of $3MM of equity and a subsequent raise $11MM of equity with a new lead investor. The company completed three acquisitions and is positioned to be one of the leading players in the Utility Computing business.

Mr. Chapman served as the Vice President of Best Practices for AppNet. AppNet was a publicly traded (NASDAQ) firm that was subsequently acquired by CommerceOne in Sept. 2000. In this role, he was responsible for the integration of the 12 companies acquired by AppNet.

Mr. Chapman co-founded NMP and acted as its Chief Operating Officer prior to its October 1998 sale to AppNet. NMP was dedicated to providing internet business consulting services to a wide range of clients. Mr. Chapman helped grow NMP from 5 staff to 200+ staff over the five-year period that saw revenues increase from $100K to over $30MM. During that period, Mr. Chapman's numerous roles included new business development, strategic alliance development, technical direction of the organization, management and development of the outsourcing business and client steering. Mr. Chapman was instrumental in securing institutional venture funding, developing corporate strategy and culture and closing the merger with AppNet.

Prior to NMP, Mr. Chapman worked in the commercial practice of Booz Allen & Hamilton focusing on the strategic use of information technology to support business processes. Prior to Booz Allen, Mr. Chapman worked as a consultant for Andersen Consulting in their Advanced Systems Group. At Andersen, Mr. Chapman focused on client server development. He was also instrumental in the start-up of a new business in the hand-held computing industry.

Cliff received a Masters of Business Administration with Honors from Columbia Business School and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering from Lehigh University. He is a member of the Northridge Systems and Vivakos advisory boards and the Board of Directors for Catuity (NASDAQ: CTTY).
